If you could leave but one thing behind you what would it be? Wealth and property? Family heirlooms? For me those don’t even enter the running. Not only because I have few such things to leave. But because I hope, above all, to leave a lasting legacy.

For several years, I kept two homemade placards on our entryway mirror. They read Ebenezer and Jehovah-Jireh. Two powerful words from Scripture, meaning “stone of help” and “Yahweh will provide.” In other words, up to now the Lord has helped us – and he will continue to do so.

My husband’s hometown is a village where thrift reigns. The people there have long been used to making do. The current trend toward simplicity and frugality is so normal for them, they would ask “Is there any other way?”
The Virtuous Woman: Part Four
As we take another look at Proverb’s virtuous woman, let’s keep in mind that her entire life is summed up in these mere 22 verses. We tend to take them in one lump when in all actuality they seem to recount the stages of her life.
We’ve been out of lockdown here in Italy for over two months now. Although not all countries are yet open to international travelers. But at least we’re out of lockdown! And I’m learning one thing.
